Arabic Programme

Why is it important we learn Arabic?

Arabic is the language of the Noble Qur’an, The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the chosen language for the people of Paradise. Traditionally Muslims from foreign lands were at the forefront of learning Arabic and its related sciences. For example, the majority of Islamic scholars in various subjects from Tafsir to Hadith and Fiqh were non-native speakers. The Arabic language is a means for the propagation and preservation of Islam due to it being the principal language for its primary sources. The love of the Arabic language is from the integrals of faith as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has informed us:

‘’Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an in order that you may understand’’.

The Arabic language is the most eloquent, plain, deep and expressive of the meanings that might arise in one’s mind. Therefore, the most honourable Book, was revealed in the most honourable language, to the most honourable Prophet and Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), delivered by the most honourable Angel, in the most honourable land on earth, and its revelation started during the most honourable month of the year, Ramadan. Therefore, the Qur’an is perfect in every respect.

Tafsir of Surah Yusuf – Ibn Kathir

“To direct oneself to the Arabic language and to its understanding is from the religion”. – Abu Mansoor al-tha’alabi.

Why learn with us?

The City of Knowledge Academy Centre for Arabic Studies is an institution with a reputation for excellence in providing a comprehensive programme for the study of Arabic as a foreign language to students of all backgrounds, specialising in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).

Many of our teachers have been teaching Arabic to Arab and non-Arab students for almost a decade worldwide. Therefore, they have a near native comprehension and fluency of the language and its grammar, as well as being fully qualified lecturers in the language.

The topics of the courses are children centred and make the Arabic language as easy as possible for them. Lecturers will pay maximal attention to the children and teach them vocabulary by periodical repetition and by using audio recordings and pictures.

Grammar is going to be explained in an easy manner. Students will read children’s books and play games in Arabic during the lessons. During the breaks they will have the opportunity to look through Arabic books and magazines.
